Community win: $49,000 to deliver new shared use path - Semaphore Road

Encouraging people to cycle is a key priority for the South Australian Government; whether it is for recreation, fitness or as an alternative mode of transport.

We want to double the number of people cycling in South Australia by 2020.

Improving cycling access and safety, as well as providing more comfortable cycling routes for people of all cycling abilities is central to achieving our goal.

That’s why we are partnering with 14 Councils to deliver 22 projects across South Australia in 2016-17, with a State Government contribution of over $1.8 million.

As part of this, I am pleased our local community will receive $49,000 to deliver a shared use path adjacent Semaphore Rd from Jenkins St to Nelson St, Semaphore

This project will contribute to the development of our Bikedirect network of main roads, bike lanes, local streets, off-road paths and some unsealed paths.

Works are expected to be completed by June 2018.
