The South Australian Government has announced the establishment of 8 music focus schools that will provide a hub for students to access music lessons across the state.

A message from the Minister for Education and Child Development:  I am pleased to confirm that the State Government has agreed to 15 hours per week of preschool for public preschools under the National Partnership Agreement on Universal Access to Early Childhood Education 2016 and 2017.

Premier Jay Weatherill announced recently that he would like to see state governments have responsibility for children from birth all the way through to age 18.  This would mean the states look after childcare, preschool and primary school, whilst the federal government would be in charge of universities, vocational education and training.
